This course is for individuals who want to earn their hunter education certificate in a traditional classroom setting that includes instructor-led lessons, hands-on activities and videos.
Hunter Education Courses are mostly offered in Wyoming from January - September, with most classes in March, April, August and September. Description
Students will engage in a series of in-person lessons that cover
- hunting ethics and responsibility,
- firearm safety
- relevant Wyoming wildlife statutes and regulations,
- wildlife identification, game care and
- outdoor safety.
Upon successful completion of this course students will earn their hunter education certificate which is mandatory for any individual born on or after January 1, 1966 wanting to hunt with a firearm.
This certification option is recommended for:
- ages 10 and up
- individuals new to firearms
- hands-on learners

This certification option is the mandatory second half of a two-part hybrid of online independent study. Students must have first completed the online at-home study portion of Wyoming hunter education (https://www.hunter-ed.com/wyoming/) before taking this 4-hour instructor-led, in-person portion.
Students are required to be at least 10 years old to participate. However, this course is recommended for ages 12 and older.
It is recommended that individuals register for an internet completion course before taking the 9-13 hour online independent study course.

- 50 question multiple choice test.

- individuals that have previous firearms experience and
- Students are REQUIRED to be 10 or older.

Overview
This instructor led class series is for bowhunters of all skill levels interested in learning about bowhunting basics with interactive lectures, videos and hands on learning. Bowhunter Education certification is not required for archery hunting in Wyoming, but is accepted by other states that require bowhunter education.

Overview
The Wyoming Game and Fish Department invites you to attend the 2023 Wyoming Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (B.O.W.) Workshops. Learn the basics of canoeing, archery, fly-tying, shooting skills, backpacking, outdoor photography, and much more. These camps are designed for women at least 18 years old and are looking to learn basic outdoor skills but all skill levels are welcome. B.O.W. will be offered twice this summer, June 7th - June 9th and July 26th - July 28th. B.O.W. takes place at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp in Dubois, Wyoming. Family Camp at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp offers an overnight camp experience for participants ages ten and up to build confidence in their outdoor skills and enjoy learning together as a family. This camp, led by Wyoming Game and Fish Department staff, will allow participants to explore nature and learn new recreational outdoor activities together as a family.

Our Adventure Camps teach families the basics of multiple outdoor activities, including hiking, canoeing, archery, and animal identification. These are introductory camps to give a broad overview of outdoor recreational activities, with the hope that families will spark a passion together!

Fishing Camp
Campers will learn the basics of two types of fishing, fly fishing and spin casting, through hands-on fishing trips. Campers should arrive with an interest in fishing and limited experience. All participants must have a valid fishing license.
Hunter Education Camp
Do you have your Hunter Education Certificate? Families interested in hunting Wyoming wildlife will complete a Hunter Education course during this camp, where they learn the basics of safe hunting and receive their certificate.

Camp Wild at Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp offers an overnight camp experience for 14-16 year olds at our summer camp near Dubois, WY. Please contact parker.everhart@wyo.gov with any questions.

These campers will learn the basics of conserving natural resources through hands-on experiences, including watersports, animal identification, hiking, research projects, archery and much more. Guest speakers from the Wyoming Game and Fish Department will also meet with the campers to provoke a desire to work outdoors. Participants will need to bring proper clothing and footwear for outdoor exploration as well as a sleeping bag and other overnight gear. Transportation to and from camp is not provided. Meals will be provided for the duration of the camp.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department hosts a 4 day professional development camp for educators to learn fun and simple ways to get students outdoors and teach them about wildlife and habitat at the Whiskey Mountain Conservation Camp near Dubois.

This camp will offer two separate tracks. The first track is a Project WILD curriculum workshop, which offers the opportunity to get your hands on one of the nation's most widely-used conservation education curriculum guides, which provides easy-to-use lessons about wildlife & conservation of natural resources. Participants will also experience ready-to-use, transferable tasks emphasizing data collection using real, actual, simple science equipment and hands-on outdoor learning. The second track will allow participants to become certified hunter education instructors, with the intent of allowing them to bring hunter education into their schools. Participants from both tracks will come away with a better understanding of the Wyoming Game & Fish department's role in managing wildlife and habitat in the state and future career opportunities for students.

Programs focus on mentored experiences for participants allowing them to learn in the field in a small group setting. NGO partners run these programs by meeting the Wyoming Game and Fish Department standards and qualify as WYhuntfish events.
