About this Event:

This is a traditional hunter education course and is not intended for individuals who have already completed the Wyoming Online Hunter Education Class. You MUST attend ALL three classes and pass the final exam to receive your certificate. Please ensure you can attend all scheduled sessions before registering. There will be no make-up classes.

This class offers ample opportunities for hands-on learning, interaction, and handling of inert firearms. Be sure to bring a pen or pencil for note-taking.

The cost of this class is $10 CASH per person, payable on the first night of class. (Registration for the class includes a separate $5 fee payable to the software company). Please try to arrive early to the first class to verify your registration information. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday for signing in & receiving materials; class will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. Classes will be held at the Wyoming Game and Fish Casper Regional Office.

This class is recommended for ages 10 and up. Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (parents do not need to register unless they wish to receive a certificate). Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay and participate in the class.

You may bring non-messy snacks and drinks to all classes. For Thursday and Friday evening, feel free to bring dinner. On Saturday, we will have a 1-hour lunch break from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. You may either bring lunch and stay in the classroom or leave but you must return by 1 p.m. We may be doing some activities outside so be sure to bring appropriate layers for varying weather.

If you are unable to attend, please remove yourself from the registration list so that waitlisted students may have the opportunity to join.

To earn your certificate, you must demonstrate safe firearm handling skills and pass a 50 question multiple choice test with a score of 80% or higher.

STUDENT AGREEMENT FORM

Graduates of this course are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of the material presented in class and in homework assignments on both verbal and written examinations. The demonstration of skill in safe gun handling is an important completion requirement. The student’s attitude toward the course of instruction and the acceptance of the principles of responsible hunter behavior weigh heavily in the pass/fail decision for each student.

Wyoming Hunter Education Law requires any person born on or after January 1, 1966, to successfully complete a hunter education course. The following policies and procedures have been outlined so you will fully understand the requirements for successfully completing the course.

Attendance at all sessions is required. Due to scheduling difficulties, make-up sessions will not be allowed. If you fail to attend any portion of the course your certification will be denied. Students are expected to be in their seats and ready for class at that time.

The following areas of concern will be used in evaluating each student for certification.
 1. Class attendance
 2. Prompt attendance at class sessions
 3. Completion of homework assignments and worksheets
 4. Participation in class activities and discussions
 5. Scores on written quizzes
 6. Score on the final examination
 7. Performance on the firearms field course
 8. Behavior in class and during the field exercise
 9. Attitude

I have read the above policy and understand the requirements for successful completion of the Wyoming Hunter Education Course.
